Catholic school tells trans student he must wear girl's uniform or he won't walk at graduation
St. Pius X Catholic High School in Albuquerque color-codes graduation attire for its students based on gender: white caps and gowns for girls, black robes for boys.
Damien Garcia’s friends, family and teachers recognize him as a man. But because he’s transgender, his school says he must wear the graduation uniform designated for women or he won’t walk with his class.
The school superintendent told KRQE the school determines graduation dress code by the gender listed on the student’s birth certificate. Although Garcia’s birth certificate now contains his legal male name, his gender is still listed as female, since New Mexico requires a medical affidavit and proof of legal name change before amending gender on a birth certificate.
A pair of young Quaker brothers in Albuquerque heard about Garcia’s story and launched a petition on Change.org calling for St. Pius to let Garcia walk in men’s regalia for graduation. The petition, addressed to St. Pius principal Barbara Rothweiler, currently has more than 24,000 signatures.
Garcia’s family, who supports his male identity, said they don’t expect the parochial school to make an exception before graduation, but hope the school will consider doing away with gendered graduation gowns altogether in the future.
First off, what’s the benefit of having different graduation attire for men and women anyway? But more importantly, this is outrageous and hurtful in a lot of ways. Sign the petition and maybe the school will take note and wake up.
Okay no. This is a Catholic School.
CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL. If you don’t want to deal with Roman clergy’s beliefs on the trans* community THEN DON’T GO TO A CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL THAT IS RUN BY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. You really cannot expect to get the local Archdiocese to change their doctrinal beliefs because of Social Justice. The world does not work that way.
What next, will there by a petition against Catholic Doctrine classes at Catholic HIgh Schools that are paid by the Catholic Church?

When I say I believe in God, I’m saying that from a very elaborate Hermetic Qabbalah perspective.
When others say I believe in God, they and I share marginal beliefs behind that statement.
Likewise, when I say that you can, in fact, sell your soul to a demon, it does not even vaguely mean what the masses think it means.
It’s one of those subtle blinds.

Yup. There’s literally about a dozen demons whose purpose is to “grant knowledge of” various things.

There are people who think people like John Constantine are only works of fiction. That they can’t exist in real life. A well connected ceremonial magician in a large city having to constantly deal with frustrating people regarding magic?

People who summon demons for physical reasons are the same people who choose to not be aware of the history and science of the universe constantly.
All things can be used for trivial ends if you wish it. You can never use algebra for the rest of your life, you can choose to not see the forces interacting around you that produce the breeze, you can choose to not understand the neuro-bio-chemistry behind the very act of reading this post, and likewise you can use Angels or Demons or Gods for trivial things like getting back at a shitty exboyfriend or looking pretty with a glamour and absolutely nothing else.
Low Magic has it’s place in the world, but it is not the world. And all things have an exalted form.

Goetic Demons are not “necessarily” anything. Or “their ilk”. Goetic Demons can teach you far more than any small minded elemental.
Look up Paracelsus. The German ceremonial magician/alchemist. He’s the one who established the classification of elementals “witches” use today and is thus the optimal place to start IMO.

Because I have some Christian friends that do accept me. I didn’t want to keep my religion a secret. Why should I have to live in fear of being judged when all I know is that people are going to stab me in the back.
And like all people, you should know that not everybody will accept you, and others yet that will remain your friend only so that they may seize an opportunity to “save” you or as a reminder of what not to be.
Which by the way, I’ve literally had that done to me. Why meditate on Satan to reinforce your religious beliefs when you can be friends with a bisexual magician/bokor? A daily reminder of sin, and a perfect chance to be God’s little soldier boy.
We do not have to live in fear. That is a matter of your own perception and conviction. But you cannot possibly believe that you are not judged. We are judged all the time. By our superiors, but our followers, by our family, by our friends, by our enemies. The entirety of social structure is based on information followed by judgement/decisions based on that information. The variances are what individuals do with the information and how they behave and what they believe via their judgement and decisions. If you fear judgement then you fear the very fabric of society. The point is to accept the judgements dealt to you and get over them if they cause you pain.
People will come into your life. Half of them will abandon you when they get their panties in a knot over trivial things. Others will stay with you even if you were to walk through all the Hells and Heavens.
That’s life.
